Monthly Print Competition Labels
File Requirements for Greater New York Digital Print Competition and Critique on March 4th:
Deadline is Saturday March 1st at 10:00 PM.
Images will not be accepted by CD the day of and No prints will be accepted.
Please keep this in mind. No files will be added after this time.
Images will be Scored and then Critiqued:
1. Images will be Scored per PPA Standards
2. After all Images are Scored they will be Critiqued.
A Total of 6 Digital Images maximum may be submitted per member. No more than 4 in one category. Illustrative, Portrait or Candid.
Images need to be:
16x20 inches
72 pixels/inch
Saved as a "10" quality JPEG
In Photoshop : Edit > Convert to Profile > sRGB
The file name of the images submitted must be the Title of the print.
No names of makers please in file names.
Make a Folder with the Entrant's Name and put your file(s) in it with the Log In Sheet and E-MAIL the folder to: Benny Migliorino at:

For Those Needing Help Getting Started
In Photoshop
File > New Document
Size your canvas to 16x20 inches at 72 pixels/inch
Choose Edit > Fill and Choose Black, White, Gray or a Color
File > Open (now open the picture that you want to add to your 16x20 from above)
Select > All
Edit > Copy Go to the New Document
Edit > Paste
If you need to resize your photo
Edit > Free Transform
If you want to dress up your photo a bit go to Edit > Stroke to add separation between the photo and the background. If you go into the layers palette you can click on the "f" and have more editable control of the stroke as well as adding drop shadows, etc.
When Complete go to Layer > Flatten Image
File > Save As JPEG Quality 10
E-MAIL the file to:
